Maintenance Planning Scheduling and Control

Course Description

This specialized program integrates best practices in physical asset management and operational reliability. Participants will explore the evolution of maintenance practices aligned with international standards such as ISO 55001 and SMRP Pillar 5 – Work Management. The course covers the full maintenance work management lifecycle, from strategy definition and work order management to planning, scheduling, and execution control using performance indicators, enabling efficient planning that improves the availability and reliability of physical assets.

Training Methodology

The adaptive planning framework (APF) methodology, also known as adaptive planning management
(APM), is an agile project management methodology designed with the inevitability of change in
mind.

That means that using adaptive project framework methods, teams must try to anticipate the risks
and prepare for the unexpected in their plan. They need to understand that critical component is
constantly in flux and continuously re-evaluate results and decisions with these moving parts in
mind.

This requires extensive communication with all stakeholders and collaboration, similar to other agile
methodologies.

This instructor-led training develops planning and scheduling skills using simulators and role-playing.

Learning Objectives

  • This seminar will teach how to plan and schedule maintenance work effectively. Lean how to
    structure a maintenance organization to allow planners/schedulers to successfully and avoid
    reactive maintenance environment.
  • They will understand the correct process for work management from the initial work order
    to job execution. Will understand the roles and responsibilities of planners/schedulers. Learn
    how to rank and prioritize maintenance work along with understanding Key Performance Indicators that they will need to track the planning and scheduling process. Most importantly, to will learn the steps to implement planning and scheduling at their site.
